Kozakou Olga biography

Born in Limassol in 1946. She graduated from the Sculpture Department of the Athens School of Fine Arts and also studied at the Advertising, Decoration, and Scenography Laboratory of the same institution. Additionally, she holds a degree from the Faculty of Philosophy at the University of Athens.

She replaced her doctoral degree with a high level artistic work. Currently residing in Athens, she previously worked as a professor at the Graphic Design Department of the Higher School of Graphic Arts and Artistic Studies of TEI of Athens, which is now known as the University of West Attica. She is a member of the Chamber of Fine Arts of Greece.

Throughout her career, she has showcased her work in ten solo exhibitions in Greece and Cyprus. She has also participated in numerous group exhibitions, both nationally and internationally. Her artistic creations can be found in collections held by public institutions and private collectors in Cyprus, Greece, Europe, and America.

In addition to her artistic endeavours, she has authored several books. One notable publication is “Εισαγωγή στην Εικαστική Γλώσσα” (Introduction to Visual Language), first published in 1988 by Gutenberg Publications. This book has been utilised as a teaching resource in both TEI and universities, receiving multiple reissues since its initial publication. Her other works include “Ελεύθερο Σχέδιο” (Free Design), a collection of poetry and drawings released in Athens in 1984. Additionally, she published “Ο Γάργαρος Βυθός” (The Murky Abyss), an illustrated collection of short stories in 1995, which was awarded the State Literature Prize of the Ministry of Education and Culture of Cyprus. “Τα δ’ Αφροδίτα δείξεν ταν οδύναν” (Aphrodite Revealed the Pain), a compilation of poetry and paintings, was published in Athens in 2003.

Her captivating short stories have been featured in collective volumes such as “Το μυστικό” (The Secret) in 2018 and “Καζαμίας” (Kazamias) in 2021, both published by Kastaniotis. She has contributed numerous short stories to magazines in Greece and Cyprus, including Cyprus Chronicle, Anti, Frear, Bookpress, and Xάρτης. Additionally, she has contributed illustrations to the “Αυθεντική Παιδεία” (Authentic Education) and “Ελληνική Γλώσσα” (Greek Language) series published by Gutenberg between 1990 and 1995.

Notice

Lot Prices

Please note that Lot prices listed on this page are exclusive of the Buyer’s Premium, of any applicable taxes and costs, unless otherwise noted.

Auction closing times

Lots will close at their scheduled time unless a bid is placed within five minutes of a Lot’s scheduled closing time, in which case we will extend the sale of that Lot by five minutes.

The extension of any Lot’s closing time does not affect any other Lot’s closing time; therefore, it is possible that Lots will close out of the announced auction ending time. Lots may extend for up to two hours to accommodate competitive bidding.

Information

Certificate of Authenticity

A Certificate of Authenticity is essential to identify and attest to an artwork's genuineness and provenance. Peter's Gallery issues a Certificate of Authenticity to accompany every piece from our collection.

Information

The secondary art market

The term “secondary market” refers to art that has been sold at least once before. In simpler terms, the secondary market deals with resale, typically with artworks by artists who have a substantial reputation. For example, most artworks sold through auction houses form part of the secondary market.
