The total purchase price is calculated, in short, as such:<\/p><p><strong>Hammer Price<\/strong> + <strong>Buyer&#8217;s Premium<\/strong> (12%) + <strong>VAT<\/strong>* (5% or 19%)<\/p><p>The Buyer\u2019s Premium is added to the Hammer Price (winning bid) and is included as part of the total Purchase Price payable by the successful Bidder. In an Online Auction conducted by Peter\u2019s Gallery, the Buyer\u2019s Premium rate is as follows: <strong>12% of the Hammer Price of any amount<\/strong>.<\/p><p>You will also be required to pay <strong>*Value Added Tax (VAT) at a rate of 5% (\u2021 symbol) or 19% (\u2020 symbol) on the hammer price, depending on the item. Additionally, a 19% VAT will always apply to the Buyer&#8217;s Premium. For instance, if User 1 has set a specific maximum bid and if User 2 comes and places the same maximum bid, then the platform will show an alert message to User 2 that it cannot continue and will place the bid on behalf of User 1 of the same amount as his maximum bid.<\/p><p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">For example<\/span>: Let&#8217;s say User 1 places a maximum bid of \u20ac350 on an item, and then User 2 places the same maximum bid. In this case, User 2 will receive an alert message saying that their bid matches the maximum bid of another user, and that the bid for the item has been updated. The platform will then automatically place a bid on behalf of User 1 for the amount of their maximum bid. You can bid manually, meaning one bid at a time or use automatic bidding. The platform will place incremental bids on your behalf up to the maximum amount specified. Take a look at our <a href=\"https:\/\/petersgallery.com.cy\/new\/glossary\/\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">glossary guide<\/span> <\/a>to get familiar with auction terms.<\/p><p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Here is an example to understand the implementation of proxy bidding; <\/span><\/p><p><em>If you, Bidder A, place an automated bid of \u20ac1,000 by typing &#8220;1000&#8221; in the price box then clicking the &#8220;Place Bid&#8221; button next to it, then the system will bid for you at the lowest price possible, and never for more than the maximum bid amount you indicate. Now, if Bidder B places a bid of \u20ac1,100, a higher bid than your maximum, then immediate outbidding will occur. Also, if you place a bid and then you see it is outbid immediately (automatically shown in the bidding table in every lot page, under the images) then it is certain another bidder is using proxy bidding and has his or her maximum amount more than your current bid. In this case, you need to bid higher until you have surpassed the other user&#8217;s maximum bidding amount.<\/em><\/p><p>The closing time noted at the right side of every lot of the auction indicates when the lot will begin to close. Lots will close at their scheduled time unless a bid is placed within five minute of a Lot\u2019s scheduled closing time, in which case we will extend the sale of that Lot by five minutes. The extension of any Lot\u2019s closing time does not affect any other Lot\u2019s closing time; therefore, it is possible that Lots will close out of numerical Lot order. Lots may extend for up to two hours to accommodate competitive bidding.<\/p><p><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/petersgallery.com.cy\/new\/glossary\/\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">AUCTION GLOSSARY can be found here.<\/span> <\/a><\/strong>Familiarise yourself with the auction terms;<\/p><p><strong>Maximum Bid<\/strong><\/p><p>Your <a href=\"https:\/\/petersgallery.com.cy\/new\/glossary\/\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">maximum bid<\/span><\/a> is the highest amount you would like to bid for a lot. It will be executed by Peter&#8217;s Gallery online system at the lowest price possible, and never for more than the maximum bid amount you indicate. Please note that if two clients enter the same maximum bid, the bid which was entered first will have priority.<\/p><p>The bidding platform will automatically place incremental bids on your behalf against any competition up to the maximum bid you have placed. The bidding platform will execute bids beginning at the lowest increment. If your maximum bid is outbid by another client, you will be alerted on Petersgallery.com.cy if you are logged in, via email for a chance to increase your bid. While you can always return to the auction and increase your bid by single increments, we encourage you to take advantage of the maximum bid feature in the event you may be unable to return to your desired lot when the live auction begins.<\/p><p>Also, if User 1 has set a specific maximum bid and if User 2 comes and places the same maximum bid, then the platform will show an alert message to User 2 and will place the bid on behalf of User 1 of the same amount as his maximum bid.<\/p><p>For example: User 1 places a maximum bid of \u20ac350 and User 2 places the same maximum bid, then User 2 will get an alert message saying \u201cYour bid matches with maximum bid of a user. The bid of this item has been updated. Please check the latest bid and bid again.\u201d. The platform then places a bid on behalf of User 1 with the amount of his\/her maximum bid. Now, User 2 will have to check the available bid price mentioned under the price-box and try bidding again.<\/p><p><strong>Absentee bidding options<\/strong><\/p><p>Written offers: If you can\u2019t take part in the auction, submit written offers using the form in the catalogue at least 24 hours in advance.
