Σύντομα βιογραφικά καλλιτεχνών (αλφαβητική σειρά) - Short biographies (alphabetical order):

Andreas Efesopoulos was born in Limassol 6th March 1944. He attended the Lanition high school. Studied art at Saint Martin's School of Art (1962-66), London, obtaining the “National Diploma in Design/ N.D.D”. Studied on a scholarship at Hornsey College of Art in the Teacher’s Training Department (1966-67) obtaining the «Art Teacher’s Certificate, A.T.C.». Worked as a teacher of art at Harrow County Boy's Grammar School, London (1967-68). Returning to Cyprus he was appointed as an art teacher in secondary education.

Raised to deputy head teacher in 1989 and to headmaster in 1998, he has retired from schools in 2004. Since then, he lives in Limassol and continues his work as a painter and a sculptor. His art record includes five solo exhibitions and the participation to numerous group  exhibitions in Cyprus and abroad. Ηis works can be found in art galleries and private collections in Cyprus and abroad. He had, rich trade union action for matters concerning education and art in education, and vigorous action, collective and individual, for matters concerning artists, art and culture in Cyprus.

Το 2011 παρουσιάζει στην Λεμεσό για πρώτη φορά τα έργα του, στην Γκαλερί «Μορφή».

Το 2016 εκθέτη την νέα του δουλειά στο ίδρυμα «Levendis-culture» στο Παρίσι.

Το 2019 επιλέγεται από την κριτική επιτροπή της « Société des Artistes Français » και συμμετάσχει στην διεθνούς φήμης έκθεση « Art Capital » που διοργανώνεται από το 1901 και κάθε χρόνο μέχρι σήμερα στο ιστορικό κτίριο του « Grand Palais » στο Παρίσι.

Το δημιουργικό έργο του Αντρέα Μορφή σηματοδοτεί το συναπάντημα διττών λόγων και αντίλογων, έτσι όπως υποσυνείδητα δυο κουλτούρες χαράζουν τη σφραγίδα τους στον άνθρωπο και στο έργο του, έτσι όπως συνειδητά και υπαινιχτικά μαρτυρείται η διαλογική αυτή φύση στην ονειρική της διάσταση.Μέσα από ονειρικά παιχνίδια αντικατοπτρισμών, προβάλλουν τα πρόσωπα σαν από θρύψαλα αναμνήσεων νοσταλγικών, ταξιδεύοντας μας σε κρυφές αναπαραστάσεις του παρελθόντος. Οι τεχνικές, μεικτές κι αυτές, τροχοδρομούν το χρόνο στο χώρο, δεσμεύουν το φως στο χρώμα, υποδεικνύοντας μεθοδικά τον αινιγματικό ψυχικό κόσμο της ανθρώπινης φύσης. Τα έργα με αφηγηματικές προθέσεις μας εκθέτουν την εξωτερικευμένη σκέψη ενός οικείου μηνύματος, της σχέσης του ανθρώπου με τον άνθρωπο.

Στην άλλη άκρη μιας κρυφής επιθυμίας του καλλιτέχνη να απελευθερώσει τις αλήθειες των φιγούρων μέσα από το χρώμα και την κίνηση, μια γαλήνια ηχώ προϊδεάζει χαρισματικά, μέσα από αυτή του την έκθεση, την ελπιδοφόρα συνεύρεση του ανθρώπου με το ύψιστο δημιουργικό του πεπρωμένο. Ο Αντρέας Μορφής έχει συμμετάσχει σε ποικίλες εκθέσεις στη Γαλλία και την Κύπρο. Τα έργα του βρίσκονται σε ιδιωτικές συλλογές στην Γαλλία, Ελβετία, Νορβηγία, Ελλάδα, Κύπρο, και στην Κρατική Πινακοθήκη Λευκωσίας.

5 Οκτωβρίου 2017 Επιλεγμένος Καλλιτέχνης της ACAF στις Βρυξέλλες και έκθεση στο BOZAR (Μουσείο Σύγχρονης Τέχνης) Βρυξελών.

Έχει πολλές ατομικές και ομαδικές εκθέσεις. Το 2002 εκπροσώπησε την Κύπρο στην Μπιενάλε της Αλεξάνδρειας και το 2004 συμμετείχε στην Μπιενάλε της Φλωρεντίας. Το 2005 προσκλήθηκε από το Πανεπιστήμιο του Leeds όπου έκανε Μίλησε  για το έργο του και δίδαξε κατά τη διάρκεια της παραμονής του.

Τον Ιούνιο του 2013 προκάλεσε μια διεθνή θύελλα των μέσων μαζικής ενημέρωσης τοποθετώντας μη εξουσιοδοτημένη εγκατάσταση τέχνης 20 τοίχων από επιτύμβιες πλάκες έξω από την κεντρική τράπεζα της Κύπρου σε ένδειξη διαμαρτυρίας για την επιβολή της λιτότητας στην Ευρωπαϊκή Ένωση και τη διεθνή νομισματική χρηματοδότηση στην Κύπρο. Andros Efstathiou

Studied in New York at the New York Studio School in Richwood Art Institute.  On 2004 study obtained the MA Fine Arts toy Northampton University

November 2016 has been selected in the top 60 international artists to exhibit in New York Arts club. The committee selection includes from SOTHEBY’S, CHRISTIE’s collection, GAGOSIAN GALLERY, ARTNET

October 5, 2017 Selected Artist of the ACAF Brussels and exhibit at the BOZAR (Museum of modern art) Brussels

He has had numerous solo and group exhibitions.  2002 he Represented Cyprus in the Biennale of Alexandria, and in 2004 he participate in the Florence Biennale. In 2005 he was invited by the University of Leeds where he did a slide talk about his work, and taught during his stay

In June 2013 he caused an international media storm by placing unauthorised art installation of 20 tombstone toilets outside of the central bank of Cyprus in protest of the European Union and international monetary funds’ imposed austerity on Cyprus. Υπήρξε  μέλος του Δ.Σ. του Ε.ΚΑ.ΤΕ,  μέλος της επιτροπής επιλογής έργων για  Δημόσια Κτίρια  και μέλος της επιτροπής αγοράς έργων για εμπλουτισμό της Κρατικής Πινακοθήκης.

Έχει πραγματοποιήσει 15 ατομικές εκθέσεις και συμμετείχε σε αρκετές ομαδικές εκθέσεις σε Κύπρο, Αθήνα, Ρώμη, Λονδίνο, Φιλανδία, Ελβετία, Ρουμανία, και Κόσοβο.

Είναι εκπρόσωπος του IWS Cyprus (International Watercolor Society).

Πήρε μέρος στην Διεθνή Biennale ακουαρέλας στην Σλοβενία 

Aristotelis Demetriou born in Pafos. He studied at the High School of Fine Art in Athens, in the studios of Panayiotis Tetsis and Demetris Mytaras. He presents his work regularly at exhibitions in Cyprus, London, Rome, Athens, Finland, Switzerland, Romania and Kosovo.

He has showcased his work in London and taken part in collective exhibitions such as ‘Artistic Expression of Mediterranean Countries’ in Rome in 2010 and ‘International Watercolor Biennale’ in Slovenia in 2015. The nation draws on his knowledge for its visual art culture. He was a member of the state committee for the selection of art for display in public buildings, and a member of the committee for buying artwork to enrich the Cyprus State Gallery.

He is the leader of IWS Cyprus (International Watercolor Society).

Γεννήθηκε στη Λεμεσό το 1975.

Σπούδασε στην Α.Σ.Κ.Τ Αθηνών 1994-1999.

Αποφοίτησε το 1999 από το εργαστήριο του κ. Δημήτρη Μυταρά με άριστα.

Παρακολούθησε τα εργαστηριακά μαθήματα αγιογραφίας και νωπογραφίας με καθηγητή τον κ. Σώζο Γιαννούδη.

George Gerontides

Born in Limassol in 1975.

Studied at the Athens School of Fine Arts (1994-1999).

Graduated with first class honours from Pr. Dimitris Mytaras' workshop.

Attended portable icons technique and fresco painting workshops taught by Sozos Yiannoudes.

Γεννήθηκε στο χωριό Τσάδα της Πάφου το 1934, όπου από πολύ μικρός ασχολείτο με τη Γλυπτική, φτιάχνοντας μικρά αγαλματίδια από πέτρα και πηλό.

Σπούδασε  Οικονομικά και Διοίκηση Επιχειρήσεων καθώς και Εικαστικές Τέχνες (Γλυπτική) στη Βηρυτό, Λονδίνο και Ελλάδα. Είναι κάτοχος διπλωμάτων ΒΑ., ΒΒΑ, ,ΜΒΑ και Ph.D.

Εργάστηκε σαν Καθηγητής Μέσης  Εκπαίδευσης και μετά την Ανεξαρτησία Δημόσιος Υπάλληλος στο Υπουργείο Οικονομικών για 21 χρόνια όπου ακολούθως ιδιώτευσε. Είναι Πρόεδρος και Διευθύνων Σύμβουλος ομώνυμου Ομίλου Εταιρειών στη Κύπρο καθώς και Σύμβουλος/μέλος  πολλών Επαγγελματικών και Φιλανθρωπικών Συνδέσμων και Οργανώσεων. Διετέλεσε Πρόεδρος για 15 χρόνια της Παγκόσμιας Ομοσπονδίας Κτηματικών Επαγγελμάτων (FIABCI) και εκπρόσωπος της Ομοσπονδίας στα Ηνωμένα Έθνη στην Γενεύη.

Με το λίγο ελεύθερο χρόνο που διαθέτει ασχολείται με το αγαπημένο του χόμπι, τη γλυπτική, με το οποίο τα τελευταία είκοσι χρόνια και με θέμα του τη Γυναίκα ασχολείται με πολύ κέφι και αφοσίωση, αφήνοντας το έμφυτο δημιουργικό ταλέντο του να ξετυλίγεται και να δημιουργεί μαζί με τη τρομερή αισθησιακή φαντασία του, έργα τέχνης μοναδικά στη Κύπρο αλλά και στο εξωτερικό.

Από το 1997 μέχρι σήμερα έχει στο ενεργητικό του 20 ατομικές Εκθέσεις και 15 ομαδικές στη Λευκωσία και στη Λεμεσό, στις Γκαλερί  ΓΚΛΟΡΙΑ,  ΜΟΡΦΗ και PETER’S GALLERY αντίστοιχα. Τα  έργα του αγαπήθηκαν πολύ από το ευρύ κοινό γι αυτό και οι εκθέσεις του σημειώνουν πάντοτε μεγάλη εμπορική επιτυχία. Έχει πρόσφατα δημιουργήσει τη δική του Γκαλερί, The Royal Gallery of Ceramic Sculpture, που βρίσκεται στο Μόντε Μονιάτη στη Λεμεσό.

Michaelides Dinos was born in Paphos in 1934, Cyprus and had discovered his gifted talent in Sculpture since his pre-schooling age. He studied Economics, Business Administration and Fine Arts (Sculpture) in Lebanon, England and Greece and holds a BA, BBA, MA and Ph.D. Degrees. He has worked as a High School teacher and as a Government Officer with the Ministry of Finance in Cyprus for 21 years until his early retirement, to go private. He has been President for 15 years of the International Real Estate Federation (FIABCI) and a representative of the Federation at the United Nations in Geneva. Presently he is the President and Managing Director of his own GROUP OF COMPANIES and a Board member of many Professional Associations and Philanthropic Institutions and Organizations in Cyprus and Oversea Countries. He devotes his limited leisure time in his beloved hobby "Ceramic Sculpture". His main theme of work is WOMAN characterized by sensationalism and a high degree of eroticism and tasty sense of humor, earmarking his talent as a unique global sculptor. He has organized 20 personal Ceramic Sculpture Exhibitions in Nicosia and Limassol at Gloria gallery, Morfi gallery and Peter’s Gallery respectively, with great success and has participated in 15 Group art exhibitions in Cyprus. Dinos Michaelides is the owner of the "Royal Art Gallery of Ceramic Sculpture" at Monte Moniatis, Limassol, Cyprus.

Panikos Tsangaras was born in Trikomo (occupied now by Turkish troops) of Cyprus in 1964. In 1984 he entered the Athens School of Fine Arts in the classes of Panayiotis Tetsis. He has studied Painting, History of Art, Byzantine Icon’s Technique, Fresco, Mosaic, History of Architecture, Rythmology, Art Philosophy and Pedagogic. In 1989 he got his degree in Painting as well as in Theoretical studies  (B.A.). He has been a member of the Cyprus Chamber of Fine Arts (E.KA.TE.) since 1991. In 2008 he acquired the title of Master (M.A.) in Painting In 2014, 2016 and 2018 he was awarded with the Pancyprian Distinctions in Painting. He lives in Limassol and works as an artist as well as an art teacher.His work is located at the Presidential Palace of Cyprus, at the National Gallery of Cyprus, at the Municipal Gallery of Limassol - Cyprus, at the Municipal Gallery of Larnaca - Cyprus, at the Le Meridien Limassol Spa& Resort collection, at the collection of Athens School of Fine Arts in Greece, as well as in other private collections. He presented his work in 10 (ten) individual exhibitions in Cyprus and Greece, and in many group exhibitions in Cyprus and abroad. He lives in Limassol and works as an artist as well as an art teacher.

Renos Efesopoulos was born in Limassol, Cyprus, in 1984. Under his father's influence, he began creating art at a young age and succeeding in many student art competitions. In 2004, he was admitted to the Athens School of Fine Arts (ASFA), Greece, with a scholarship, and studied in the workshop of Arvanites Zacharias. Since his graduation, in 2010, he lives in Limassol where he continues his work. His art record includes a distinction in art competition in 2006, two solo exhibitions

(2011 in Limassol and 2015 in Nicosia) and participation in many group exhibitions in Cyprus and Greece. Ηis works can be found in art galleries and private collections in Cyprus and abroad.

Γεννήθηκε στη Λεμεσό το 1950, σπούδασε Ζωγραφική με εξειδίκευση στο Κινούμενο Σχέδιο, Δίπλωμα Ακαδημαϊκού Ζωγράφου, Academy of Applied Arts, VŠUP, Πράγα, Δημ. Τσεχίας (1971-1977). Είχε 30 ατομικές Εκθέσεις Ζωγραφικής. Έκανε Διαφημιστικά κινούμενα σχέδια και εικονογράφηση βιβλίων για παιδιά. Ειδικεύτηκε στο Computer Animation και έκανε τηλεοπτικές παραγωγές με δισδιάστατα και τρισδιάστατα γραφικά (1992-5). Το 2012 παρουσίασε το νέο έργο του σε Animation ‘Κυπριακές Μεταμορφώσεις’ σε ψηφιακής παραγωγής (διαρκ. 7 λεπτών).

Ζει και εργάζεται στην Λεμεσό και εκτός από έργα σε ακουαρέλα και λάδι έχει δημιουργήσει για λογαριασμό διαφόρων εταιριών έργα του σε Μεταξοτυπίες (πέραν των 65 εκδόσεων). Υπήρξε Β′ Γραμματέας (1986-90)  και Πρόεδρος του ΕΚΑΤΕ (7/2003-6/2004). Ως πρόεδρος επικεντρώθηκε στις δικοινοτικές σχέσεις και δραστηριότητες των Κυπρίων εικαστικών Καλλιτεχνών.

Spyros Demetriades

He was born in 1950 in Limassol and studied Art and Film Animation (diploma in Academic Painting, 1971-1977, Academy of Applied Arts, VŠUP), in Prague, now Czech Republic. In 1979, his short film of animation “Cypriot Transfigurations” was shown at the “Annecy (France) Festival of Animation”. In 1982 he produced his book with aquarelles, “Limassol My Love and exhibited at Zygos Gallery, in Athens and since 1978 he organized 30 painting exhibitions mostly in Cyprus. He participated also in a big number of group exhibitions in Cyprus and abroad. Being invited in Monaco he produced three aquarelles (urbanscapes) for one offshore Company (1984). He represented Cyprus in Vilnius, Lithuania at a plain-air, 1987. He participated in the Third Symposium on Art in Patra (Greece)2006. He sporadically produced TV Commercials in traditional animation techniques and illustrated children’s books (Kedros, Athens). In U.K. he specialized also in computer animation (1992-3). Next he produced animated commercials and educational shorts for TV computer generated in 2D and 3D (1993-5). He designed two silver proof coins for the Central Bank of Cyprus. His collages, oil paintings, aquarelles and silk-screen prints are hosted in private and public collections and in many prominent Hotels in Cyprus and abroad mainly in: UK, Germany, Lithouania, Greece, Monaco etc. He was involved with the EKATE for many years, being president from June 2003 to June 2004, he worked hard for the benefits and promotion of Cypriot visual artists and organized with his board bi-communal artistic programs.
